Ah, summer is here again. I forget each winter how much I miss sitting outside talking with friends late into the evening. Hearing the locusts, seeing the lightning bugs, and feeling the cool night breeze are some of my favorite aspects of summertime.
I have recently obtained a beautiful yet painful sunburn on my arms, legs, and back from enjoying the summer sun a little too much. It is now beginning to peel and I must duck down and hide every time someone wants to take a picture.
For this lovely Father's Day, my children and I are going to help my dad make some homemade vanilla ice cream and also help him finish painting the benches in the backyard. There is nothing more special than being together-and being outside together- as a family.
Speaking of family, I better go see what my kids are up to now- they are being too quiet.

You like summer? I think it is okay. The only thing I hate about it is that blazing sun! Oh yeah, and the fact that I hate to tan! But overall what you mentioned about hearing the locusts, the night breeze and seeing the lightning bugs are some wonderful yet memorable favorite parts about summer that I absolutely love! Im more of a Fall type person. Its not too hot, and not too cold. It does not rain as much as it tdo in the spring and also the beautiful colors of the leaves falling off the trees!
