Summer Days

Ah, summer is here again. I forget each winter how much I miss sitting outside talking with friends late into the evening. Hearing the locusts, seeing the lightning bugs, and feeling the cool night breeze are some of my favorite aspects of summertime.
I have recently obtained a beautiful yet painful sunburn on my arms, legs, and back from enjoying the summer sun a little too much. It is now beginning to peel and I must duck down and hide every time someone wants to take a picture.
For this lovely Father's Day, my children and I are going to help my dad make some homemade vanilla ice cream and also help him finish painting the benches in the backyard. There is nothing more special than being together-and being outside together- as a family.
Speaking of family, I better go see what my kids are up to now- they are being too quiet.

My first blog

I am a senior English major at UCO. I am scheduled to graduate in May 2009. I have two children- a boy, 7, and a girl, 6, so I stay busy! I plan on teaching English in the U.S. after graduation, but hopefully overseas after my kids grow up. I have been working as a substitute teacher for two years and I enjoy it very much.
I travel a lot and enjoy it very much, also. I recently got back from Minnesota. It was pretty exciting driving through tornado alley during tornado season. I got to see wall cloud after wall cloud.
I am not the most computer-savvy person in the world, but I am getting there! I think online courses are extremely convinent for adults in today's fast-pace society.
